From President James Votruba - I am writing to provide you with additional information regarding state budget reductions. The Council on Postsecondary Education has asked each university to describe how they would manage a 6.7% budget reduction and its impact on both students and our region. Our response is attached. Cuts of this magnitude will force us to become a very different institution; limited enrollment growth at a time of record demand, less involvement in advancing key community partnerships, limited investment in high demand programs, and reduced infrastructure to support student success. We will adjust, but the impact on our campus, our students, and our region would be significant. I’ll provide additional updates as new information becomes available. |
