President's Advisory Committee for Efficiencies and Savings (PACES)

Northern Kentucky University is working diligently to be a resourceful and innovative university. The university strives to ensure that every dollar is used wisely in a manner that will provide the greatest benefit to the students, the region, and the Commonwealth. The university takes great pride in its ongoing commitment to contain costs and increase efficiencies. While great advances have been made in these areas, there is much more that can be done to control costs and streamline processes. To this end, the President's Advisory Committee for Efficiencies and Savings (PACES) shall be established as a cross-functional standing committee to coordinate the formation, implementation, and documentation of initiatives to enhance the university's efforts to be good stewards of limited resources.

The President's Advisory Committee for Efficiencies and Savings is charged with the following responsibilities: 

  • Conduct a review of best practices at other colleges and universities.
  • Adopt a university accepted definition of cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Analyze the university's current processes and procedures regarding cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Develop and implement a university-wide process for calculating, tracking, and documenting efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Seek creative ideas and recommendations from the university community and others to increase efficiencies and cost savings and make recommendations to the President and Executive Team.
  • Submit a semi-annual progress report to the President highlighting key findings and results-to-date.

This charge shall be reviewed by the Committee periodically to ensure continued effectiveness of the role of the Committee.

Members of the Committee shall be appointed by the President for a 2-year term. The Committee Chair or Co-Chairs shall be named by the President. Membership shall include, but not be limited to, representation from the following:

Division of Student Affairs

Division of Planning, Policy & Budget

The Office of the Vice President for Planning, Policy and Budget shall have lead responsibility for providing support to the Committee. Subcommittees may be developed as needed.
