Points of Focus, 2012-14

Northern Kentucky University has developed a transitional strategic plan, Points of Focus: 2012-14 Integrated Strategic Plan, to guide the institution during the leadership transitional period with Dr. James Votruba’s announcement of retirement in 2012.  This transitional strategic plan integrates and consolidates the existing priorities of The Talent Imperative! with the priorities of the institution’s strategic enrollment management plan, the Quality Enhancement Plan, the diversity plan, the technology plan, the Foundations of Excellence report, and the institutional objectives established by the statewide public agenda.  This document does not create new priorities.  It synthesizes the priorities identified from other significant work accomplished during the past year and carries us forward with a global view from which units can structure and manage their alignment plans.

We encourage you to read through the Points of Focus: 2012-14 Integrated Strategic Plan  to get a good perspective on the work recently accomplished by this institution and the directions we are headed. The execution of strategies in support of our priorities will sustain NKU’s momentum toward the achievement of its goals and the objectives of the statewide public agenda.

A Planning Collaboration Retreat held on October 11, 2011, brought Cabinet and UPAC members together to hold discussions on the university’s priorities.  The president, vice presidents, and deans made the following presentations about initiatives currently being implemented that are in support of the Points of Focus.  These presentations help inform those from other divisions of the strong efforts already underway that make a positive impact on our students and that move the institution forward toward the achievement of our goals.
